SINGITA KWITONDA LODGE Book Now

Surrounded by a verdant tropical rainforest, Singita Kwitonda Lodge’s quintessence is to provide an intimate but sustainable experience on the brim of stunning Volcanoes National Park. Tis Protected Area is where over a-third of the Earth’s surviving Mountain gorillas find shelter and this Lodge’s strategic location provides the perfect base for experiencing this life-changing adventure. The breathtaking design of this accommodation facility blends well with the natural environment, within a combination of verdant meadows as well as wetlands providing phenomenal views of Muhabura, Sabyinyo and Gahinga Volcanoes.

Opened on 1st August 2019, it was built with typically local raw materials and designed with volcanic rocks, River stones, oven-red clay bricks as well as hand-made ceramic tiles with consideration of local community efforts in providing some of the materials. The traditional designs were blended with modern-day style to create a totally different architectural design and layout that is considerate of the surrounding.

The Lodge was named after one of the legendary silverback gorillas (leader of Kwitonda Gorilla Group) and sits on an area of over 178 acres. It also shares its border with the remarkable Volcanoes National Park and this makes it the closest place of lodging to the Park.
